HIV/AIDS
The HCMC HIV/AIDS Program sees more HIV-infected patients than any other clinic in Minnesota. The goal of MMRF's Hennepin HIV/AIDS Research/Education Center (HARC) is to support education for persons living with HIV and their families and friends, and to provide opportunities for participation in clinical trials related to the care of these persons. HARC provides patients opportunities to enroll in clinical trials where they have access to the newest therapies that are available only in a research setting. There are drugs "in the pipeline" that don't yet have FDA approval, but look very promising. HARC can offer study participants those drugs through clinical trials. Among its many studies, HARC is currently testing a potential vaccine for the AIDS virus .
